ACHIEVEMates
Aggie ACHIEVE students will not only receive support from ACHIEVE and the university, but also individualized support from Texas A&M students who volunteer as ACHIEVEMates. ACHIEVEMates are undergraduate and graduate students from across disciplines who establish one-on-one relationships with Aggie ACHIEVE students to facilitate natural inclusion in the broader campus community.
Roles and responsibilities could include one of the following:
- Lunch or dinner partners
- Academic tutors
- Wellness partners
- Daily planners
AggieACHIEVEMate roles will provide leadership opportunities for Texas A&M University students to gain valuable experience in monitoring and facilitating integration in college life and planning for success in each ACHIEVER’s program plan. Additionally, Aggie ACHIEVE students will have the opportunity to join existing teams and student organizations (e.g., Best Buddies, Aggies on the Spectrum) to broaden their social networks on campus.
